Edwin's fine *hug*

Last night, on the spur of the moment, I decided that I needed to finally get him a friend. So, off to the humane society we went and we tried out all the other bunnies.

He's such a cute little guy, and all of the bunnies were female and twice/three times as big as him and he ATTACKED all of them. The bigger ones just sat on him to make him stop. :) It was funny, what odd bunny brain tells you to attack a bigger female bunny? :)

Well, the first and last bunny we tried was the smallest, she was a small dwarf. I was a bit shy of her because she liked Edwin so much. (So much in the sexual sense.) But, Edwin just sat and took it and she nuzzled him and had her way with him to her hearts desire so we thought it a good match. (Especially as I planned to get her fixed).

This morning, my sister just called me to ask me if Bunnies can have their periods. :( No, they can't. So, I've got a vet appointment tonight for this new female bunny, but I'm worried. *hug* I've only had her for one day. :(

Here's a picture of her:

**hug** @ Viv. What's wrong with bunny?? :(

EDIT - Cute bunny. So she was bleeding this morning?? Did you keep them in the same cage last night?

Not that I am an expert or anything, but a friend of mine raised and showed rabbits when we were young. He rarely let a male and female in the same cages for very long. (I do not know why....but seeing as he wanted them to breed, I thought it odd)

I've only had her one day and she's bleeding :( Bunnies are very delicate and I'm worried she hurt herself after having such a big night last night.

*hug*

It should be okay, but it's just worried feeling. *hug*

She's so brave. She's new to the house and already trying to get into everything. *hug*

We're calling her 'Fancy'. I usually go with mythological names (like Edwin, Nimue, Etain etc..) , but the song 'Fancy' was on and it seemed to fit her. :)

SHE is humping HIM. He is fixed. It's just not going to work, though she keeps trying. :)

Oh, we're keeping them in side by side cages until she's fixed. Hormones are really tough...rabbits breed like...rabbits, they can't control themselves. She'd be all over poor, introverted Eddie...

It'll probably be okay, right? *hug* :(

Yes....I know the feeling with my old friend, Jeremy the c0ckatiel.

A few years ago, he fell in his cage and tried to fly to get himself to balance, however he didnt have enough room to maneuver, so one of his new feathers fell out. New feathers tend to be attached below a bird's skin, so this caused some bad bleeding. I didnt know exactly what to do. I took him out of the cage, and called the vet. Well the vet told me to keep a cloth at the opening to stop the bleeding. Up to this point, it seemed Jeremy was not showing any signs of pain, but when I applied the cloth to the cut, he obviously showed displeasure but he toughed it out. The cut finally healed after about 15 minutes or something. That night he was tired because of the struggle, and the loss of blood. I worried all night that the loss of blood was too much for the little guy. Fortunetly, he was absolutely OK the next morning and had the same active and friendly nature the next day, and lived about another 3 years after that incident. I will always have a place in my heart for him. That was just one of those scarry incidents, though.
