The coordination and "sophistication"(if anything like this can be called sophisticated...) of the attack narrows the possibilities of who it was down dramatically. According to what I have seen/heard, it is believed that only...uh...damn, I don't know how to spell his name, but it sounds something like "been lodden" I think. It's hard to think straight right now with the shock of what happened. :(

Just take a deep breath and relax. We shouldn't second guess, everything.

I'm not sure what you are referring to here, but in this deeply sad day for the US and the majority of the world, we should neither draw premature conclusion nor pick at each other. If you feel like discussing the Israel/Palestine issue, please read my post sith links in the UN racism thread, and post there.

It think very few groups, if any, will claim responcibility for this action.
It seems the idea was to strike fear into every civilized country in the world.
("If it can happen in the US it can happen everywere-mentality")
One needs not take responcibility for that.
Also the groups that do take responcibility for it, will be hunted down (if not most terrorist groups/cells) ferociously.

@Sailor Saturn
.... Ben Laden (pronounced like that I think)
The way I understand it he used to do terrorism (perhaps even the car bomb in the wtc parking years back), but is dead, keeping still or somthing like that now.

Well we don't know that - just because he doesn't stand forward, he can still be financial and organisational active.
He has massive financial resources, and could fund such an event.

 ...No Ben Laden is currently harbored by a country. The US is not for sure where however.

I just saw the video of ppl celebrating in middle eastern streets. Quite heart-breaking :( How could death and hate be so celebrated? The fact that the same thing can be found anywhere, including the US, makes it even worse.

HOLY SISHKABOOB !!!!

I was just trying to cool off my head and this cowardice act comes ???

Update on current status :
2 Towers of WTC has colapsed, according to the news after the plane crash a bomb on 4th floor explode. Which makes things certain that it's gonna be a huge body count there. And from the footage I presume the plane also have explosive since it went out in flames after the crash. *CRAP !* The second plane have 92 people ! That's human being for God sake !

What's FAA people doing ? Sleeping ? It's obvious that the plane flew off course and went into no fly zone

Pentagon luckily not destroyed. But this surely create chaos since the target is economic stategic target and main military HQ. This is surely a piece of art created by a sick genius.

Possible master mind :
1. Taliban feat. : Osama bin Laden
2. Palestine even Arafat condemed the attack
3. Anti Zionis - since Jews controls US economic

The infamous terrorist Osama bin Ladan, suspected for the Embassy attacks in Kenya and Tanzania 1998.

If it's him, I hope they will find him, but I hope the US will not go to war against Afghanistan to get him. People there suffer tremendously under the Taliban regime and a war would make it even worse for them :(

@DP: Waverly works in the state of NY I think, not the city.

i have quite a few Islamic friends and they are probably more pissed off than i am. they are looking at it as not only an attack on their home, but as an attack against their religion. using the name of God in such violence, especially against innocents, is such a violation of what they believe.</STRONG>
I'm having a difficult time believing that since much of the Islamic world condones such violence with their deafening SILENCE.

Yeah, that's it. I had only heard the name said, but never saw it written. I, too, hope the US does not go to war against Afghanistan, but I do believe something must be done about this, even at the risk of a war. :(

Something will happen - no doubt about it, I belive that american intelligence, possible aided by British, German and Isralian intelligence, will launch several strikes against terrorist groups/cells to try to eleminate as many leaders as possible.

I also keep getting flashbacks from the movie "Under Siege" - and I think that something like that is likely to happen :(

I don't know if it's worse than Pearl Hrbor, I wasn't around then, but it is the worst thing that ever happened here in my lifetime.
This is a debatable comment, but I understand that the US did have some intelligence re Pearl Harbour. Re this tragedy none. :(

(sorry posted too early)

I have no doubt that Britain will be the first to offer military and logistical support to American forces when they go and take care of the twisted ****s that did this
They already have...

I just want to see how Bush reacts. I hope to see him take a firm stand on this. I don't see any other way he can handle it. Fortunatly, I believe that he has what it takes to do something about this.
This will make or break the Bush administration in my opinion. The opposition are getting behind him though...

They just closed off the Canadian and Mexican borders.
They have closed off all land borders and grounded all civilian planes. All flights into the US are being redirected to Canada (last I heard)

Tragic tragic day... :( :(

True, And why all terrorist are from Islamic nations ? I'm not against any religion but is this just a coincidence ? Also that miss interpretation of what they so called Jihad - Self sacrifice for their religion.

What if the war that results is worse than any of us could imagine? I have to admit that I'm scared right now. Scared of what is to come not only for America, but for the world because of this. I wonder if this infamous day has plunged us into chaos.
