The coordination and "sophistication"(if anything like this can be called sophisticated...) of the attack narrows the possibilities of who it was down dramatically. According to what I have seen/heard, it is believed that only...uh...damn, I don't know how to spell his name, but it sounds something like "been lodden" I think. It's hard to think straight right now with the shock of what happened.Originally posted by Gwalchmai:

I'm not sure what you are referring to here, but in this deeply sad day for the US and the majority of the world, we should neither draw premature conclusion nor pick at each other. If you feel like discussing the Israel/Palestine issue, please read my post sith links in the UN racism thread, and post there.Originally posted by Rob-hin:

Well we don't know that - just because he doesn't stand forward, he can still be financial and organisational active.Originally posted by Rob-hin:

.... Ben Laden (pronounced like that I think)
The way I understand it he used to do terrorism (perhaps even the car bomb in the wtc parking years back), but is dead, keeping still or somthing like that now.

The infamous terrorist Osama bin Ladan, suspected for the Embassy attacks in Kenya and Tanzania 1998.Originally posted by Sailor Saturn:

I'm having a difficult time believing that since much of the Islamic world condones such violence with their deafening SILENCE.Originally posted by nael:

i have quite a few Islamic friends and they are probably more pissed off than i am. they are looking at it as not only an attack on their home, but as an attack against their religion. using the name of God in such violence, especially against innocents, is such a violation of what they believe.
Yeah, that's it. I had only heard the name said, but never saw it written. I, too, hope the US does not go to war against Afghanistan, but I do believe something must be done about this, even at the risk of a war.Originally posted by C Elegans:
The infamous terrorist Osama bin Ladan, suspected for the Embassy attacks in Kenya and Tanzania 1998? Yes, the main news sites seem to agree with you, SS. If it's him, I hope they will find him, but I hope the US will not go to war against Afghanistan to get him. People there suffer tremendously under the Taliban regime and a war would make it even worse for them
This is a debatable comment, but I understand that the US did have some intelligence re Pearl Harbour. Re this tragedy none.Posted by SS -
I don't know if it's worse than Pearl Hrbor, I wasn't around then, but it is the worst thing that ever happened here in my lifetime.
They already have...Posted by Nippy -
I have no doubt that Britain will be the first to offer military and logistical support to American forces when they go and take care of the twisted ****s that did this
This will make or break the Bush administration in my opinion. The opposition are getting behind him though...Posted by Bloodstalker -
I just want to see how Bush reacts. I hope to see him take a firm stand on this. I don't see any other way he can handle it. Fortunatly, I believe that he has what it takes to do something about this.
They have closed off all land borders and grounded all civilian planes. All flights into the US are being redirected to Canada (last I heard)Posted by DP -
They just closed off the Canadian and Mexican borders.
True, And why all terrorist are from Islamic nations ? I'm not against any religion but is this just a coincidence ? Also that miss interpretation of what they so called Jihad - Self sacrifice for their religion.Originally posted by Sojourner:

What if the war that results is worse than any of us could imagine? I have to admit that I'm scared right now. Scared of what is to come not only for America, but for the world because of this. I wonder if this infamous day has plunged us into chaos.Originally posted by Sailor Saturn:
