another peek into the life of an offshore worker- by leedogg
just as leedogg was spamming happily on gamebanshee(his second favorite thing to do in the world ), he hears a rush of alarms ringing "PROCESS ALARM, PROCESS ALARM" at a deafening pitch. "Dammit! what now!" he says, as he feels the normal vibrations of the platform come to a stop. "oh damn", he thinks "i was just about to sing to T'". he realizes the platform had shutdown. as he curses to hisself, a co-worker enters the control room where leedogg is already. they look at the computer screen and notice "exhaust temp high". they dart out of the door to start shutting critical valves the control the flow of natural gas, and it is storming tremendously from the remnants of a tropical storm! more cursing. now they figure out that the computer has them locked out of the starting sequence, so they call the programmer that set the computer up to come out in the morning and remove part of the program(the "exhaust high temp" isn't even in service anymore ). things go from bad to worse. the storm is pounding the structure, they are lucky it lets up just enough to allow the drainage system to keep up. after 4 grueling hours in the driving rain, they give up. "stupid computer" he thinks as he finally can log back onto the 'net and post this.
THE END (for tonight at least)
now as i was out in the rain i couldn't help but think of waverly and his *it's raining men* comment about weasel!
