In your little smilie there tyb, it would be cool if the demonic smilie at the big grin one, perhaps with lots of gore and smilie remnants when finished.

*Hears of sleepy relinquishing his mod position, and instantly runs to his closet. After rummaging about for a few minutes, he re-emerges with (strangely) a wheel barrel full of spam topics, and high explosives, and cookies. A quirky grin plasters his face as he begins singing "Lovely bunch of Coconuts"...*

I would love to see Gwally become a Mod *looks around for Buck*. I believe that he is secretly the wisest of
all SYMians, even wiser than Fable and Minerva, as he has sucesfully avoided a reputation for wisdom, thus retaining humility. Wise ideed.

However, the infrequency of his visits would probably make him quite inneffective if serious moderation is required...(not that I think it is

).
I would bet that HLD would be the first asked if a new SYM mod is needed...he's in almost every day, and is very active - However, that may force him to give up his often prominent position on the vanguard of debates and arguments...but, it happened to Fable, and we all still love him

.

I would personally campaign for the spot, but I feel that I cause a wee bit too much controversy at times, and don't always check all the threads.

HighLordDave for Moderator!
He gets my vote!
Aegis is too darned controversial, if funny. Maybe in some messed up world where we needed chaos and hellfire as moderator abilities (unfortunately, I already sow these in IWD1+2).

This would be the only thing that would make me a bad mod, I think.

I second that..... I think a moderator should be able to demonstrate wisdom and sound judgement on any given occasion....

Well thanks to those that nominated little ole Ysh

but I don't think that I possess either the qualifications or the patience (more importantly!)

Thanks again anyway

My respect goes to the mods, they have done a great job.
Re nominations, I had privately suggested CE, Gwally, Ned, HLD and BS. In no particular order of course...

I don't think CE and Ned are interested, but I might be wrong...
@Frogus - Gwally is not that infrequent
@Aegis, no disrespect intended at all, but I agree with your sentiments

Well my nominations would be (In no particular order or even knowledge of if they wanted to): Mr Flibble, HLD, Ned, Tamerlane, DW, Gwally.
But as I can see, I obviously lead the pack in nominations.....

@Ysh....I agree.....maybe I should return to lurking to strengthen support
@ty....Tam wouldn't work, I think he is gonna be absent from SYM in the near future

First of all, thanks for all your kind words, guys. It is especially refreshing to hear that I am not associated with chaos and hellfire (so my secret plot is still safe).
I do have a sort of devil's advocate kind of question: Does SYM really need another moderator? We've got T'Lainya and fable full time, and Buck drops by every now and then, so is it necessary for there to be someone to succeed Mr Sleep?

Oh really? Where did you hear this? I know hes been absent recently, but I wasnt sure whether it was something regarding school.
BTW-Sorry, BS, for not including you in my nominations. You just dont seem like a mod. Dont know why, but seeing "Moderator" under "Bloodstalker" would look awfully strange. (Though "Banned" doesnt look quite as strange in that given position

)
EDIT-I agree with HLD. It seems SYM is running on all cylinders without problem with only 3 mods. Everyone seems to be doing a great job picking up the slack for Sleep's resignation.

Heh heh. Um, I mean, yes HLD, I know know not what you talk of. Plan, what is plan?
Good point, BTW. Put everyone at ease, yes.

What I think people have to realise is that there is more to being a mod than the status. And on many occasions this "status" affords you no more than abuse, no more than being a focal point for individual frustrations. On top of that you have to check all threads, whether you find them interesting enough to post in or not. You have to police the site. This may on occasion entail you pulling rank on your "friends" as well as the occasional offender and the perpetual insistant ones. If they are respectful of your status, then fine it makes it easier, but it can still ultimately set you appart. Moderating a site should bring respect, but then you would hope there is a general respect for members anyway. Though this is a great site in that respect, this is not always the case, unfortunately, and so it is the mods who take the brunt of the responsibility.
