Windows XP Bootable DVD

Post by Siberys »

Alrighty, new problem. I need to clean my system by doing a recovery with windows XP, and there's a problem. My CD is scratched beyond workability. It boots, and it starts to install, however, over a hundred items "could not be installed" while I tried doing this. The files that need to be installed are on there as normal, but it was scratched enough that it couldn't recognize it. So, I took my copy, did a DVD Decryptor on it, and now I have a CD image of Windows XP on my PC.

Last thing I need is to make a bootable DVD for this, and here's my question-

Nero and Roxio have both proven useless in making a bootable DVD, but I am curious how I am to create one with the program MagicISO. If you know that product, then cool, I could use the help. If you know a decent product for this, even better, but I just need to make a new copy of a windows XP boot DVD.

Which version of Nero are you using? I'm pretty sure you can 'burn bootable data disk' with Nero 6.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

Nero 6...

And it stated in several tutorials that I cannot make a bootable DVD data disc. But nevermind this for now, brother is going to pick me up a copy of XP from his college (they get them for 10-15 bucks).

I just checked and 'data disk' apparently means CD. Out of curiosity, why are you burning a DVD when XP comes on a CD and you have a CD image?
