This smooth, dark stone gives no outward sign of being anything other than an ordinary rock. Nevertheless, just holding it seems to soothe your nerves and inspire a sense of confidence. Gazing at its surface, your thought process suddenly seems as sturdy and uncomplicated as the rock itself.
According to Rapzin Ellestyn, the stone was mined from the depths of the Underdark. Its name suggests it may have been used by the drow as a weapon against their hated enemies, the illithids.
