This katana is the masterwork of the swordsmith, Anukiru. Well known for his work throughout Kozakura, Anukiru was commissioned by the Shogun to create a great sword to symbolize the power of his office. However, when Anukiru had finished the weapon, he found it so beautiful that he could not bring himself to part with it. He named his beloved masterpiece "Steel Blossom" and steadfastly refused to hand it over to the Shogun.
Infuriated, the Shogun had Anukiru beheaded with his own creation. The Shogun then claimed Steel Blossom for himself, but did not carry the sword for long. He was soon slain in battle, and the sword's fate has been a subject of rumor ever since. |
