City of Lost Souls

Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

Area Note

Some of the interior connector zones of this region are not shown on the map above. Only the two main areas (where all of the NPCs and quests take place) are shown.

Also, the game presents the Upper City of Lost Souls and the Lower City of Lost Souls as if they were two separate zones, when in reality they connect to each other and even overlap a little. The map above shows them connected.

Walkthrough

1 - Leda

Leda will trigger the side quest “The Dust of a Titan.” She’ll tell you the story of how Zeus hit a titan so hard with his thunderbolt that he reduced it to ash. She’ll then ask you to find some of this ash, which could “grant some of the power of the original titan.” You’ll find the ash inside a cave in the Far Plains. When you bring the ash to Leda, she’ll let you have a pinch, and that will grant you two skill points and 34,000 experience points.

2 - Eurydice

Eurydice (#2) will tell you that she misses Orpheus, who was banished from the Underworld. However, she’ll ponder that the Mirror of Psyche, “if such a thing exists,” might allow her to look upon her beloved. This conversation will trigger the side quest “Eurydice and Orpheus.”

You’ll find the Mirror of Psyche inside a cave in the Daemon Camp. When you give the mirror to Eurydice, she’ll look into it and discover that Orpheus has been imprisoned, and she’ll ask you to rescue him. To that end, she’ll use the mirror to open up a portal that will take you to him (#2a).

You’ll find Orpheus being guarded by a pair of cyclopes, Brontes and Steropes. These cyclopes are roughly the same as the ones you might remember from Mount Olympus, and so they should be relatively easy to kill at this point. Defeating the cyclopes will cause Orpheus’ cage to unlock, and then when you open it up he’ll automatically make his way to Eurydice. Finally, when you talk to Orpheus back inside the city, you’ll complete the quest and earn a scroll and 34,000 experience points.

“Our love will serve as a beacon, and all creatures will see a better way.”

3 - Callicrates / Pylades

Callicrates (#3) is labeled a “scoundrel shade,” but he’s more of a freedom fighter than a rogue. When you talk to him, he’ll trigger the side quest “An Invitation.” He’ll ask you to venture outside the city to the Salt Flats and to destroy one of the daemon caravans there. After doing that, when you return to Callicrates, he’ll reward you with a random piece of jewelry and 25,000 experience points.

If you talk to Callicrates again after completing the side quest “An Invitation,” he’ll trigger a new side quest for you called “An Inside Source.” For that quest he’ll tell you to talk to Pylades (#3a). Pylades in turn will tell you to talk to the daemon Keuthonymos. You’ll find Keuthonymos in the Daemon Camp.

Keuthonymos is a “neutral daemon.” He’ll ask you to intercept an envoy and bring back the message he was carrying. When you do, he’ll grant you a random relic shard and 34,000 experience points.

4 - Phyleides

Phyleides will update the main quest “Judgment of the Living.” He’ll tell you that only “the three judges who pass sentence can open the fields of Elysium, and then only to those who are worthy.” You’ll find the judges inside the Tower of Judgment.

5 - Oenobius

Oenobius will tell you about the Necromanteion, a great temple that allows the shades of the Underworld to communicate with the living beings of the Overworld. However, the daemons have captured the temple, and Oenobius will tell you that he’s worried about what they might plan to use it for. This will trigger the side quest “The Necromanteion.” You’ll find the temple in Erebus.

B Entrance to an interior connector zone. You’ll need to pass through this zone to move between the Upper and Lower parts of the city.
C Entrance to Hades’ Treasury.
D Entrance to the city proper.
G Exit to the Salt Flats.
