Background

You'll only be able to trigger this quest during the quest Something Ends, Something Begins, provided that you're playing the White Orchard version of the quest. When you exit the White Orchard inn, you'll witness a horse throwing off its rider and bolting to the east. Witnessing this scene will trigger the quest.


Walkthrough

When you follow the horse, it'll lead you to a Temerian soldier returning from war (#2). When you talk to the soldier, you'll learn that he's the horse's owner, and that the horse -- named Gulden -- is now in good hands. The soldier will then offer you a token of his appreciation, but you won't actually receive anything.
