Civic Festhall 1 (AR0601) [Legacy Page]

Did we miss anything on this map? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

The Civic Festhall is a combination concert hall, opera house, museum, art gallery, tavern, wine shop, and faction headquarters, mixed in with a few other services that are best left undescribed. This mash of services makes sense, given that the place is run by the Sensates. Their desire to experience everything includes the arts, but also much, much more. There's tall tales to be told about what happens in the back halls of the Sensate headquarters...

1 - Splinter

A burly man named Splinter stands near the entrance to the Civic Festhall. Splinter can give you some information about the faction known as the Sensates or bring you to the Public or Private Sensoriums (you must be part of the Sensate faction to see the Private Sensorium). You'll want to join this faction, which is as easy as just telling Splinter you'd like to join.

Once you've joined the Sensates, Splinter will sell you equipment and spells, as well as bring you to the Private Sensoriums. For a full list of the equipment you can purchase from him, refer to the table below. Additionally, if you've spoken to Iannis the Advocate about Deionarra's sensory stone in the Private Sensorium, you can speak to Splinter about allowing Iannis to view the stone.

Sensate Vault
Charcoal Charm [2] Clot Charm [3] Heart Charm [3]
Scroll of Blindness [1] Scroll of Blur [1] Scroll of Friends [1]
Scroll of Identify [1] Scroll of Luck [1] Scroll of Power Word Blind [∞]

2 - Mertwyn

Wandering aimlessly in this area, you'll find Mertwyn, a man without a head. If you kill the Thug Boss in the southern portion of the Clerk's Ward, you can loot Mertwyn's head and return it to him for an experience reward.

3 - Qui-Sai

A man named Qui-Sai stands in the corner of this room. At first, you'll think he is a statue and attempt to hit him, in which he will awaken and speak with you (telling you that you have no patience). Qui-Sai can teach you the Way of Stone, which will grant you a -1 to your Armor Class, as well as training you as a fighter. If you choose to train as a fighter, Qui-Sai will bring you to area #6 for training. Additionally, if you are working for Scofflaw Penn in the Lower Ward to gain access to the Anarchist faction, he will send you to kill Qui-Sai. Take him out and return to Scofflaw for an experience reward.

4 - Jumble Murdersense and Merriman

Walking throughout the hallways in the Civic Festhall are two men, Jumble Murdersense and Merriman. Jumble is responsible for Reekwind's curse in the southwest portion of the Hive. When you enter dialogue with him, choose the threatening options. He will curse you, but that's what you want.

Head outside and speak with Salabesh the Onyx and he will teach you a curse to get back at Jumble. Head back inside the Festhall and use the curse on Jumble. This will force him into removing both Reekwind's and your curses and gain you some pretty decent experience.

The other guy, Merriman, is the source of a quest given to you by Dolora in the Brothel of Slating Intellectual Lusts/a>. She will ask you to get the keys to her heart back from him. Tell Merriman you need her keys and he will ask you for something that will make him forget about Dolora. Using a Frost-Ale Mug (you can buy one at the Curiosity Shoppe or earn one from the Drunken Mage out in the Clerk's Ward), head to the Gallery outside and approach the Dark Birds of Ocanthus exhibit. Grab one of the birds and throw him inside the mug. Talk to Yvanna, the Gallery's owner, and she will tell you that a drink from the River Styx will make you lose your memory, which is what the birds are made of. Head back to Merriman and have him drink from the mug for some experience and Dolora's keys.

5 - Death's Advocate

A man named "Death's Advocate" is giving a lecture in this room. Listen to the lecture and then proclaim that you are immortal and cannot die. He will not believe you, but you can kill yourself in front of him and his crowd. Afterwards, if you threaten his life, he will revoke upon what he was just lecturing about, and if you act like you're going to kill him, he will even wet his pants... This will get a laugh out of the crowd, but no experience or anything.

6 - Fighter Training

If you've arranged for Qui-Sai at area #3 to train you as a fighter, this is where you'll meet him.

7 - Exit

This exit leads to the Civic Festhall 2 location.

8 - Montague

A man named Montague will be in this corner (or in the vicinity, anyway). If you've spoken with Juliette in the Brothel of Slating Intellectual Lusts, she will have you make some love letters at the print shop in order to make Montague think that she's having an affair. Bring the love letters here and give them to Montague. This will anger him, but you can explain her intentions and how to win her back for some good experience.
