I also tested difficulty settings and it does not matter what difficulty setting you use.
The adventurers Academy is great. I ditched Umoja for my sword coast grinding and was getting 600 xp for brown bears (CL 12). Then when I had my endgame xp level I just added Umoja back and raised him to level 18 using the trade bars gold.
I haven't tested this but I think you can export your characters and delete them and then just add back from the export. You can do this at the Inn. The only character you can't do this trick with is the leader.
Ah, it's an aggregate from the members in your party then. My bad.
As for difficulty - I thought you meant the difficulty of the opponent, as in its CL (or class level).. NOT the difficulty setting on the game itself. Again, my bad.
I thought that it saves the characters in each save file (without the ability to remove them).. and that export is only a "copy" function. If it isn't then that technique might be interesting.. still, seems like a lot of effort for this game.
