I have been playing the game I bought in the store without any patch. I am now level 18 and must be near the end. (I am in chapter 6). So far, thank God, I have had no problems at all. But I keep hearing about patches. Are they essential? Do they cause more problems than they solve?

cheating about cheating

OK I admit it. My female character got so tired of waiting for Amomen to make his move that she went and bonked a gigolo in the copper coronet. Now the Amomen romance is dead. I want to get it going again if only to stop him talking about himself. Is there some cheat somewhere to get an NPC to bonk ...

Two Small Gripes

BG1 and BG2 are great games, but I have just two small gripes about each. 1) Grammatical Errors in scripts. Dynaheir in BG1 was the worst ('thy wish my ear?' for 'thou wishest mine ear?'). Someone at Bioware needs to do their homework in Middle English, or even 19th century archaisms, and basic gram...

I like the fighter's keep. My only criticism is that it still looks a mess even when I am in day 95 (and I got rid of the trolls very early on). The butler keeps telling me that it is a long process etc. etc., but not one cobweb has been swept in all those days. If I could, I'd fire him. I suggest (...

Am I the only person who liked Ajantis in BG1? He would be so much better than Amomen . . . but Amomen is not as bad as some people seem to think. Insecure rather than snotty.

romance ended?

My character (a female kensai) was being romanced by Amomen before I went to spellhold. I have back for weeks now and no romance dialogue has recurred. Have I possibly done something to kill the romance? Ann Landers, please help!

Jan with this 'n' that. Imoen. I have not yet decided whether to get crom faeyr for Korgan. I like the individual small...

I am now at level 17 and have 9 proficiencies. I expect to get another at level 18 making 10 in the whole game. That's 6 to start with, then 1 more at each of the following levels: 9, 12, 15, 18. I am a kensai with four in katana, three in dual-wield (thanks for the hint!), and two in longsword. My ...

Alas! We dwarves must be content to yank our own dwarven (albeit not 'junior') yams. But that vampire has a nice Bodhi.

Imoen and Jaheira are essential, Viconia highly desirable. I'd like to see Shar-Teel return from BG1. A monk would be a great asset. I have never much liked Edwin for all his great statistics. I would like to see some new weapons too--maybe some nanchukas for the monk. Another essential: More romanc...

I am currently playing with a female kensai, level 17. I have 9 out of 10 weapon proficiencies filled as follows: katana ++++ dual wield +++ longsword ++ I mostly use celestial fury, but I also have daystar and equalizer, and a katana+2. I am undecided how to use my last proficiency. Any suggestions...

David Duchovny as Anomen. Like Mulder, Anomen is obsessed with his sister, and he believes the truth is out there.

My female protagonist convinced him to stay by telling him that he knew in his heart that killing Saerk was wrong. He stayed, but the romance ended. (At least it went into abeyance. No developments during the underdark or even since my return some five days ago.) But this might be because my female ...

Viconia *looks* the best, but Jaheira might be an even better lover--if she would just stop talking. Shar-Teel (from BG1) also has potential. Hard as nails on the outside, but what tattoos!

Romance with that wonderful tattooed sex goddess, Shar-Teel (from BG1). Either heterosexual (teaching her to love a man) or lesbian (in my dreams). Seriously, under this gruff, grizzled, dwarven exterior there is a sensitive lesbian struggling to get out.

I'd like to see two things:

1) More romance choices for female characters
2) The option to have more than one name. I suggest three names:
i) basic name
ii) nickname (used by party members)
iii) high name (maybe won after a quest)
