That's hardly a surprise is it Xandax? Thats in keeping with the stereotype computer gamer.

And Teroril, in your signatature it should read 'So sayeth the wise Alaundo'.

No, I don't have anything stuck up my bottom, why do you ask?

I was just about to say what Rumagent said when I read his post. (I agree http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/smile.gif ) The dragon slaying tips are just ways of taking advantage of the AI of the dragons and so on. They're no fun. You can beat them without resorting to dirty tactics and without losing h...

Geez. You guys are old. I've been into these games all my life. If they'd had BG2 when I was ten, I would have been playing it. As it seems to be the sort of thing mathematicians are into, I bet most would be able to handle the complexity at a young age. Me, I'm 19 and a physics\mathematics\astronom...

I found bows to be ineffective in BG2, and one of the main reasons is what you are talking about. There is a +5 sling that requires no ammo and can almost always hurt anyone. If only it were a bow Image

What list? It is +5. The damage is weird, something like an extra d6 +3, but the THAC0 bonus is +5 and it counts as +5 for purposes of who it can hit. Staff of the Magi also counts as +5, but it is effectively only +1.

Hmm. Thats quite a problem you've got there. Only thing I can think of that may help is mucking around with the console keys that transport you to various locations. Check the cheats section for info.

Elenias is assuming you are using the standard rules which give maximum die rolls. If you are not, the HP of your character will be less than 99(probably). The constitution bonus is +4 for 18. Note that you only get this for the first nine levels with a warrior. So your hitpoints will be 9x4 + 99 at...

I took down the dragon in act II. The reason you can't hurt him is probably stoneskin. After you cast breach he still seems to get about four free hits (*$#@!@%*&# game) but after that you can hurt him as usual. But I won't go into dtails there. There are other posts and strategy guides on that if y...

Nighthawk, I agree that one-on-one duels would be kind of like rock paper scissors. It's not what the game is designed to handle. I don't think that an Inquisator would win over a Fighter/Mage, however. There are many spells that can't be removed by dispel magic. If the level restrictions were taken...

The gauntlets are a joke? The bonus they give is only one less damage than the girlde of hill giant strength, two less that stone giant strength. Thats a pretty fine line between joke and very helpful. But I do agree that the hammer is worth it. I think it's too good and shouldn't be in the game, bu...

I wonder has anyone reached this stage with an evil character and chosen a good option? Choosing any one bad option makes you evil if you are good, does it work the opposite way for evil characters? As for Bioware promoting good, I think perhaps this is to balance that a little. Most of the NPC's ar...

The first Bodhi quest to get Imoen? You mean in chapter 3, right? I don't recall having much difficulty at this stage. You know where she is going to pop up, just summon creatures and set them next to that spot. You probably need more powerful weapons to hurt her. I'm fairly certain I didn't have mu...

This may help. When you talk to the government district dude, you have to tell him about all the pieces of evidence you have individually. After each one he says 'thats not enough on it's own' so you tell him another. I think there are three, his book, that note you took perhaps and just the fact th...

'fraid you missed a few there, Tom. Ribald has most ninth level spells for sale in his secret stash (Adventurers mart). He also has a few eighth. You find a few more ninth in the various rooms and battles in Suldanesselar. There aren't many places you can but either. Even eighth level are mostly fou...

I realised I forgot to mention Tensors Transformation. One of the best spells in the game (If only I could get to a high enough level that my Simulacrums could cast it, grr.) Magic missile's another goody I failed to mention. Although I can't say I noticed it beating the enemies magic resistance as ...
