surround gaming

I don't have a specific problem, but I was just wondering how much you knew about surround gaming, and this seemed the most appropriate forum. I'm talking about the Matrox Parhelia, which allows you to use three displays in a widescreen format in what is now a lot of games. I did a bit of research o...

Hiya guys. Sorry for my non-appearance. I must confess I had somewhat forgotten about this game - I have been very busy lately. I'm not quite sure where the notification emails went, because I only just got that one telling me that CE had posted. I guess Kam wins then, thanks to my ineptitude - a re...

Do you play online craig? Werebear is pretty cool, especially with the stun skill they have and being able to build up damage. I think they are maybe not quite as strong as werewolves, but who wants to play a cookie-cutter build? I was thinking the other day about putting together another all-paladi...

Anyway, back on topic, ;) I reckon that barbs are my favourite chars because there is absolutely nothing subtle about them :D Just hack and slash and kill. And whirlwind, which somehow manages to be amazing after a hefty nerf in the expansion.

I hate paladins because Kam likes them ;) :p

I would certainly agree with DW in that an LCD is much easier on the eye, esp over long periods of time - BG2 anyone? They are also a lot cheaper these days, and I would seriously consider getting one as a next monitor. As for Kid01's point, I wasn't aware of this issue, so I guess we'll have to wai...

Sadly, the drive is in York, and will be for the next three weeks. Thanks a lot for the heads up though, as the MPG prefix certainly rings a bell as does "about a year." Who do you think I should get in contact with over this? Directly to Fujitsu? My retailer isn't really an option, seeing as I boug...

Ok, Kid01, let's put it this way - I'm not entirely convinced that the positive aspects of Trillian, such as it connecting to all IM services for you, outweigh the fact that it looks disconcertingly and sadly not entertainingly worse than the bottom of a crocodile who has eaten the laxative stock of...

The hard drive isn't making any abnormal noises, and I'm sure now that it isn't a memory error (or as sure as I am that I trust the softawre I downloaded). The drive is a 20GB Fujitsu, and I have tried it with SMART monitoring on. It has given similar results. I will try the new IDE cable as soon as...

serious hard drive issues

This is a bit of a saga I'm afraid, but hang in there I really don't know if this has anything to do with it, but about 4 weeks ago I reformatted and installed Slackware8.1, Windows ME and Windows 2000 in that order (and on separate partitions). All was well, and Morrowind ran perfectly (you can tel...

I'm with Kam here. Just look at Trillian. Then look at it again. Then scoop the still warm remnants of your molten eyeballs out of their sockets and thank God you cant still see to look at the smilie selection.

Shoot, if you will, Mr Sleep. I have a similar problem on a Windows ME machine and perhaps this could help. Did you flash the BIOS in the end?

I have to agree with Kam on this one, up to a point. I don't like to use the resources as extensively as he does, but maps for example, which tell me things I already know but cannot remember every single detail of are very useful IMO. Guides on things which seem a little obscure at first such as al...

Another reason for using FAT32 is to be able to access it under Windows ME, which I also have installed. Before you shoot me I use it to play Quake and Worms and avoid irritating DOS niggles that Windows 2000 is subject to. There's probably a way of fixing it, but I've done it now, so unless someone...

With much wailing and gnashing of teeth I lament the lack of [sarcasm] tags! I have been running my win2k pro on FAT32 for months. So that I can read it in DOS if necessary when something goes wrong (believe me it will, especially if Kam gives me a hand with an upgrade ;) )

I certainly hope that Windows 2000 can read a FAT32 drive, or I might have a rather nasty surprise when I try and boot my computer up later on :D
