I find it very hard to play Dark Side - I have to remember that I'm trying to be evil in every conversation otherwise I end up saying nice things. Whether that's me or the instincts drummed in by thousands of other RPGs where it's so much better to be good, I'm not entirely sure, but I'd like to thi...

Carth is blatantly best, because you get him earliest, so you can steer him away from the sucky path of Ranged weapons and make him a melee master :D

Originally posted by Emancipator I think my experiences on linearity of KotOR are somewhat like this... You are in a corridor. With beautiful murals on the walls. The corridor is about 100 metres long, with a door every 20 metres. You can enter any door, in any order, at any speed. However, at no p...

Originally posted by MordorMan I think Kameleon might be right in pointing out that the lack of depth (let's call it that way) might have been caused by the KOTOR’s origins as a console game. There happens to be a piece on the gamebanshee home page about this subject, read it if you like: PCRPG's: ...

Originally posted by Armisael In my experience, a mage in BG2 will usually take a fighter apart with ease unless the fighter has spell support... but that doesn't matter here because this isn't BG2. Indeed, BG2 is the game that goes a way to pushing the balance towards the mage, and that's because ...

I think the point that people are missing (or perhaps the comments were deleted ) is that KotOR is a console game, with a PC version. Sure, Bioware developed the two versions independently, but they couldn't just have one version being better, could they? Lowest common denominator and all that. With...

Critical Strike. With it, a 19-20 Crit weapon becomes a 13-20 weapon. If those are lightsabers, and each has an Opila crystal in it (along with one of the special colour crystals, and you still have room for a good damage crystal) then that will add 2-12 to your dice roll, average of 6. That turns y...

Originally posted by Armisael Oh, and the glitch with Bandon's saber doesn't exist in the PC version. Bugger.
