bypass

These minigames where you need to connect dots with he same symbols on it, in order to bypass security or open doors are a real problem for me. At first I thought it was me, that I wasn't quick enough or smart enough but it seems that I'm not the only one with this problem.. Some mouses are apparent...

Reinstalling Morrowind

I've played Oblivion and Skyrim and although I really enjoyed Skyrim, I still appreciate Morrowind the most. The main quest, the environment, the Dunmer culture and religion are, at least in my mind, much more immersive and intelligent than the human, medieval style wordls of Oblivion and Skyrim. Al...

moving my party

Some time ago I told a friend how much I used to enjoy the Baldur's Gate series, especially the interaction with the members of my party. He told me that the Mass Effect series were very similar in that regard. So I started Mass Effect 1 a few weeks ago and I am enjoying it quite a bit. One thing th...

This is how I solved it: I copied another nif file (another piece of armor made for women), renamed it 'A_Bear_Skin_f.nif' and put it in the right directory. Works fine, except there are now some female Nord warriors wearing Japanese looking cuirasses It was so easy, I'll go celebrate by changing al...

I did as you suggested, Fable, but no luck. I killed Ollie so I could look at her inventory to see what this Bearskinthing was. It's just a Bear Cuirass like many others but the 'f' at the end means it's a female version. Is that from unmodded MW? Could I maybe replace or delete it somehow using the...

You could buy the pc versions of both Morrowind and Oblivion - they're not very expensive.

Meshes\a\A_Bear_Skin_f.nif is what the game - and I - can't find. Is that what you mean? I'm not sure how to be more specific. It's supposed to be worn by one Olfeigr the Fair in the Mead Hall in Thirsk. I'm mentioning this because I made a quick run to the Skaal village but I can't find anymore of...

Missing mesh

When entering a building in Thirsk I get an error message saying the game can't load A_Bear_Skin_f.nif. I checked where it's supposed to be, under Meshes\a\ and it isn't there. It's nowhere else in my Meshes folder either, or anywhere else on my hard disk. I can't determine if it's part of a mod tha...

My wife insists that screaming at me and cursing me while she was delivering our daughter helped her withstand the pain. She always tells me that with a smile I don't quite trust, though.

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions, guys. Oblivion has been out for quite some time and there's enough information on the net. I should've read more about the game instead of assuming I could play it like Morrowind.
I'm going to look into the mods you mentioned and try to 'salvage' my game :)

Is there hope for my non-macho pc?

I bought Oblivion a few weeks ago and decided to make the same kind of character I usually play, with great satisfaction, in Morrowind. He's stealth based and his major attributes are agility and willpower. His major skills are: marksman, sneak, security, mysticism, restoration, light armor, speechc...

Thanks, Leo. I wouldn't want to blow up my PC over this :p

I've done some minor exploring in the Imperial City and a bit beyond, and I'm going to start a new game, with a few mods, another character, etc. Since I'll be joining the Thieves guild, I'll get to those sewers eventually.

Thanks. I guess I'll leave it for now. I'm playing the game for the first time and I just got out of jail. Plenty of other places to explore, first.

market sewers - door

I stepped into the sewers under the market in the Imperial City. There was a Khajit bandit there. There's also a door but after trying to open it, it says: 'Door opens remotely'. I searched the whole room but I can't find any kind of switch. I also did a Google on this and I couldn't find a solution...

Interesting. I had fun with Tutu, what didn't you like about it? And what's the 'resolution mod'? Does it allow you to play BG in higher resoluion?

Personally, I'd think that a monk would be completely underpowered during the early levels. Crenshinibon is absolutely right about that; many of the monks advantages won't be there until (very) late in the game, if at all. His AC and magic resistance will be terribly inadequate. Also, where SoA had...
