I am magnificent! Thanks for all the information. I think the essential part I did not get was that the achievements are my achievements and not the achievements of the character I play. Now that I got a good look at all the achievements I have collected I do get the impression that the concept is ...

achievement unlocked?

Strange things are happening in the magical kingdom of Ferelden. Sometimes a message pop up explaining that I have unlocked an achievement. I am somewhat puzzled by these messages. Should I be happy with having unlocked an achievement? I can not find information about them in the manual nor in the g...

Ah! That explains why I was unable to enchant the Blade of Woe. Low-weight blades are really nice to enchant. You can end up carrying a specialized knife set.. "What is that that is rushing towards me? Hmm.. from the looks of it it might be a troll.. ah, yes, it is a troll. Time to take out my trol...

Info from the UESP I have been looking further for information on 'dispel' and I stumbled upon some interesting information on the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages (UESP). The site is having technical difficulties at the moment, so it is either slow or unresponsive. F...

Damage strength could be a nice one. It will immobilize enemies if their gear becomes too heavy and it lessens the damage they do to you. It doesn't work well against magic users, but they can be better handled with arrows anyway. Come to think of it, the 'damage fatigue' effect also has the bonus t...

Thanks. I am sure I did not get a disease from the imp. If you contract a disease, a message reporting this will appear in the screen. Up till now, I have only contracted diseases from rats, zombies and vampires. The assumption that the 'dispel' spell dispels temporary spell effects seems valid. But...

Enchantment advise sought

Hello! I have just breached the 50 barrier for my armorer skill (thank you...thank you) so now I am off to the Arcane Uni to have my stuff enchanted. It did not seem a like good idea to have enchanted gear you can not repair yourself. So now I am at loss. So many possibilities.... I paricularly want...

dispel?

Brothers, sisters and others, Does anyone know the exact way the 'dispel' spell works? I was recently hit by numerous bad spell effects from a mystical imp. I tried getting rid of them by drinking a dispel potion, but nothing happened. I think it was a 'dispel 30 points' potion. Some questions: * Wh...

Why do you want the blade of woe? It's not that special, except for the low weight.

A lot of what I think is wrong in Oblivion is probably caused by the game having an X-box version. A PC RPG player is a different type of player than an average X-Box owner. So if you like using an X-box in stead of a PC for gaming, and if you think you are a somewhat average gamer, chances are you ...

That vampire matriarch was especially troublesome. The vampiric mages and sorcerors gave met the most trouble, conjuring big golums between them and me. It would take only two or three golum hits for me to die. So I used a special bow, which I had been able to make using the capstone from the Kvatch...

SPOILER: What did this particular arrow do?

Hello Folks I have recently started playing Oblivion again, after having been disappointed at first. I have now started from scratch with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (OOO), and I must say it made the difference between 'playable' and 'not playable'. But anyway, every time I come across curious things...

Repopulation I have just had an experience that made my trousers drop down, pardon the dutchism. In the beginning of the game, when you emerge out of the sewers, there is a ruin on the other side of the water. A group of bandits was living there and I had to kill them because they wanted to do the ...
Are you sure you're not running a mod?
Well... errr.. actually I am running a mod, now that you mention it. I kind of forgot. Not that I am running a mod, but I forgot that it includes storage chests. The mod is called 'Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul' and it is meant to make the ga...

Storage chests Friends, I do believe I have an solution for the homeless adventurer who is not happy with littering the streets: guild storage chests. I have used one in the mages guild in Chorrol. There is a chest named "storage chest". I used it at level 2 or so to store some ingredients. And at ...

The condensed landscape Travelling around the map I often can not escape the feeling that i am walking in a park in stead of in a big unexplored land. The game is very rich in content, but in my opinion in was overdone. I would have liked a bigger land without a treasure area every third step. The ...

Hmmm.. I have my reservations regarding mods. I have not enabled any mods yet, but if I do I will only use mods to make the game more realistic and to improve the balance, in stead of making it easier for me. That feels to much like cheating. A game like Oblivion can quickly become unchallenging, so...

How awful! I wish I had read this thread earlier. I was so happy with the extremely powerful and ultra expensive cattle prod I found near the remains of a goblin shaman. I decided to store it safely somewhere. What safer place than a chest in the Skingrad fighters guild clubhouse, right? I am a mem...

Horses. Can you sell them?

I have been given a horse, but since I have found little use for it I want to get rid of it. In the stables outside of the cities you can buy horses. Is it also possible to sell a horse somewhere?
