As the leader of the '˜Undying Emperor's Finest', your job will be to defend a Space Marine forge world essentially a huge munitions base from a full-scale invasion by the berserker Ork Horde; the Space Marines' traditional enemy, who are just as blood-thirsty and crazy as ever. What we've been shown so far places hard-hitting bloody hand-to-hand combat and close quarters shooting at the heart of the gameplay; very much in the vein of a much faster-paced Gears of War.
You'll wield Space Marine mainstays like powered warhammers, chainsaw blades and axes, and your guns, which will include everything from the bolter pistol, through to huge chain guns that rip enemies apart. As well as that, you can expect to be able to blast into combat and scatter foes in their trademark jet-boots. This being Relic, you can be sure the RPG side of Warhammer, with all the war gear, armour and other customisable toys you'd expect, will be well represented. We wouldn't be surprised to see a comprehensive levelling system tying everything together, either, unlocking new abilities as you battle.
