Unconfirmed: The Elder Scrolls V to be Announced at E3

According to a report on Abstract360, the latest issue of Famitsu magazine claims that Bethesda Softworks is going to be revealing a "secret" title at this year's E3. Their assumption is that it will be The Elder Scrolls V (or The Elder Scrolls Online?):
According to the most recent issue of Famitsu some companies still have many surprises planned for E3. Electronic Arts, Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, Sega, and Ubisoft among others confirmed that they still have unannounced surprises. One thing that stands out is Bethesda, who listed “secret” under their surprise category, and with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion having been released March 20, 2006, the next installment in the franchise is overdue at just over four years since the last game. This would not be unsuspected as an issue of Official Xbox Magazine years ago reported that the next installment should release sometime around 2011.
Actually, I can also back up this claim. While booking my appointment with Bethesda, I was told "We are not revealing the titles which will be available at the show as of yet but we promise you they should not be missed!" Fallout: New Vegas won't be the only hands-on preview I'll be returning with then, I suppose.

God, I hope ES V is a single player RPG...

Yeah! I'll be so pissed if it's going to be MMO RPG.

Seems like a strange business strategy to me, since The Elder Scrolls V would steal all the attention from Fallout : New Vegas and turn the complaints about the graphics up to 11, but whatever, if it's true, I just hope they corrected the mistake they did with Oblivion and returned to the art style of Morrowind. :)

I agree! I also wish for the return of many elements and the overall complexity of Morrowind left behind with Oblivion.

I look forward to this. Oblivion was a mess on release, but mods really did a good job with it. As for Bethesda, I personally feel that they redeemed themselves with FO3. Not everyone agrees, I know. Some of Morrowind's complexity is arguably missing in FO3 (fewer skills, less diversity of items/options). But I do think that FO3 had significantly better dialogue and dialogue mechanics than Morrowind (no more clicking through 40 topics in hopes of one unique reply, or the need to spam the persuade button). Like Morrowind, FO3 is a game that is improved through mods (most predominantly, challenge mods in my opinion). As opposed to Oblivion, which simply needed overhauls of the entire game to make it playable.

Doubtful, Bethesda already stated that they do not announce anything at big trade shows. And they announced their line-up at E3 to be FNV, Rage, Brink and Hunted.

If they'll be announcing TES5, I think QuakeCon is more likely, given that they now own it.
