Good Old Games Interview, Part One

GamerZines has kicked up the first half of an interview they conducted with CD Projekt's Lukasz Kukawski about their popular DRM-free digital download service, Good Old Games.
GZ: What sort of processes do you have to choose which titles go into your catalogue?

LK: We have set some conditions that games have to fulfil. First of all, because Good Old Games is a platform fully dedicated to all-time PC classics, the games can't be new. We've decided that a game has to be 3 or 4 years old to qualify to our catalogue. As for how "good" the games have to be, we're choosing titles that are either considered by gamers and gaming media as classics or as cult games. We want to give GOG.com users all games that they were willing to play for years, but just couldn't find them in retail stores or even on-line. Going through some gaming forums, we've seen lots of posts saying "I would love to play X game" or "I can't find anywhere Y game and I want it so badly" and we've created a long list of such games which are requested by gamers. Also, we've added a possibility to vote on the most wanted games on our service. This app maybe isn't perfect but it shows us which games are the most requested by our users. We're doing everything we can to get them and offer via GOG.com.
