Mass Effect 2 Interviews

There are a couple of new Mass Effect 2 interviews available this weekend, the first of which is an article-style Q&A with project director Casey Hudson on Voodoo Extreme:
AI has been improved, and the ammo system from ME1 has been altered slightly. In ME2 there is now an integrated overheat attached to the ammo system. Shots are limited before you run out of thermal heat sinks. Ammo ties in to some degree with the locational damage. Now headshots matter, and you can blow off enemy body parts. So for example, if you are using the Sniper Rifle, which is much smoother now, ammo has to be reloaded. This makes you put more thought into your combat style.

Some fans feel that ME2 has turned into more of a shooter than an RPG. Combat has been shown a lot to the press, but this was to show that a lot of improvements have been made to the game's combat. However, you will find that all aspects of the game had equal attention. Numerous improvements have been made to exploration, and all other areas of the game.

A new dialogue mechanism is being introduced called "Interrupts". When you receive an Interrupt you can choose to keep playing and let them pass, or you veer off on this little side adventure. For example, a character on the edge of a cliff... you can choose to push them to their death, or save their life.

And the other is a video interview with BioWare's Ray Muzyka and Adrien Cho on IncGamers. Topics in this one include accessibility, part-based damage, integrating the uncharted worlds into the storyline, and more.
