Divinity Wednesday #13

Larian Studios' latest "Divinity Wednesday" update includes a new panoramic screenshot, another podcast, and the promise of a second cinematic trailer on Friday. Lead producer Benoît Louzas on the new 360° Rivellon screens:
Divinity II - Ego Draconis has some of the most impressive vistas and landscapes ever seen in an RPG. These are all the more awe inspiring when you realize that once you shape-shift into Dragon form, you can actually fly up and around the architecture and mountaintops, in search of hidden areas to explore that no human could reach on foot.

As a development focus, we at Larian have had to add a lot of depth to the world of Rivellon because you have the option to explore it in so much detail. It's been fun hiding secrets about the world, and building interesting, isolated areas for the player to find by themselves, especially because we have had to think quite differently given the massive amount of access you have as an avatar with flight capabilities.

We wanted our players to have the choice to either follow the basic quest line during a gameplay session, enjoy one of the many side routes and quests, or simply to choose a direction and fly off in: there are some amazing locations and secrets to discover when you do explore. Who knows what you may find out there on the horizon!

Second star to the right cap'n, and straight on till morning ! :)
