Fable II See the Future DLC Reviews

Now that the Fable II add-on has been released, a half dozen new reviews of See the Future have surfaced on the web.

The first is at Joystiq with no score:
If you've always wanted to extort the town's people as The Joker -- oh, sorry, the "Psycho Jester" -- there's something here for you. New outfits, hairstyles, collectibles and adorable Dalmatians? They're here too. Perhaps it's best that the future doesn't offer as many gifts as the present. And at a very reasonable price of 560 MS Points ($7), it's nice to know that Lionhead's less of a swindler than Murgo.

The second is at Kotaku with no score:
"See The Future" leaves us wanting to do just that: See more of the Fable universe in whatever form it takes whether that be RPG or Peter Molyneux coming full circle by turning the series into a God game.

The third is at Eurogamer with a score of 6/10:
A slew of enjoyable new Achievements reward past accomplishments as much as new ones, awarding gamerpoints for performing 25 groin shots, or making love 25 times (or, er, watching someone else make love 25 times). These meta-challenges draw out the experience a little but, for most players the package offers little more than two hours of new content. Of course, at just 560 MSP (GBP 4.76 / EUR 6.72), that's reasonable value, but buyers should be aware that, while See the Future certainly lengthens the Fable II experience, it does little to expand it.

The fourth is at GameZone with a score of 9.4/10:
If you are a fan of Fable II then you owe it to yourself to download the latest add-on: See the Future. The new missions are great to play through, and it is exciting to see what the name of the add-on means, and to know that there has to be additional add-ons coming in the future. Download this today for only 560 Microsoft Points, you will not regret it.

The fifth is at Destructoid with a score of 3/10:
As a Fable II fan, it pains me to say this, but "See the Future" is a gauche and ultimately boring addition to Fable II. The key components of the DLC -- the (exclusive) items, the two quests, and the potential of seeing what's next in the franchise -- simply aren't worth your coin. Even if you're a Fable zealot, I find it hard to believe you'll walk away from this download with a smile. Stay away if you can.

And the sixth is at Edge Online with a score of 6/10:
While See the Future undoubtedly delivers on its title, giving you a single feverish glimpse of a potential new direction for the series, this odd collection of entertainments offers far more than a mere early-warning hype machine dressed up with a few free haircuts for your dog. In its cheeky refusal to conform, it's also a chance to see Albion's present, and take another look at a game that's both fascinating and gently flawed. It was one of the defining features of Fable II that it often tried to do too much at once; ultimately, it's almost reassuring to see that, even with its DLC, Lionhead remains just as wilful and ambitious.
