Fallout 3 Reviews

The weekend brings us another pile of enthusiastic reviews for Bethesda's Fallout sequel. The first is at WorthPlaying with a score of 9.6/10:
Fallout 3 isn't perfect, and some longtime fans may focus more on what it isn't rather than what it has become in Bethesda's hands, but its shortcomings pale before the fun that kept pushing me ahead to find out what was over the next hill of rubble. The world that Bethesda has put together manages to assuage much of that worry with an engaging RPG that easily stands as a passionate demonstration of their love for the series. As Perlman says at the start, "War never changes," and with Fallout 3, the postapocalyptic spirit of the series continues to march on.

The second is at Play Magazine with a score of 97%:
Fallout 3 is a brilliant, daring game. It expands on the Oblivion formula in numerous ways and is equally as compulsive to play. It's not for everyone, though. The dark and gritty world and the adult themes make Fallout 3 unique in the medium of videogames and we thoroughly recommend that you experience it.

The third is at Play.tm with a score of 96%:
In that sense, Bethesda's apocalyptical Fallout 3 belies its own jaw-dropping desolation by delivering a near-faultless action RPG that manages to not only execute compelling first-person gameplay but also provides an influential and in-depth character evolution system that's supported by an intriguing storyline and a mind-boggling game world that screams "Game of the Year" at every turn.

And the fourth is at Columbus Alive with a score of "A":
Fans of post-apocalyptic stories will find a consistent, enjoyable world to uncover over the hundreds of hours of play included in Fallout 3.
