EverQuest II: The Shadow Odyssey Interview

RPG Vault chats with SOE's Noel Wailing and Jeremy Gess about The Shadow Odyssey, EverQuest II's fifth expansion pack slated for release later this fall.
Jonric: What are the new zones in Shadow Odyssey like? To what extent will this content be restricted to advanced characters?

Jeremy Gess: The large majority of the zones in Shadow Odyssey are heroic group instances. Most of these are tuned to level 80 players, but some do scale down to level 50 group play depending on the particular overland zonea specific one is connected to. For example, the Miragul's Phylactery instances scale down to level 50 because it is attached to Everfrost.

Noel Wailing: Whereas Rise of Kunark concentrated heavily on large overland regions, Shadow Odyssey's focus is on dungeon content and storyline. Most of the completely new areas are tuned towards the bulk of our player base at the high end, but there is certainly content for the mid-levels as well.
