NCsoft Denies Layoff Rumors

GiantRealm once again stoked the "NCsoft Austin isn't doing so hot" fire, prompting the company to respond with an unequivocal denial.
One NCsoft rep called the report "just crazy" in an e-mail to Edge.

Another stated, "Those are rumors right now and I/we aren't going to comment on something like that. That is pretty outrageous."

NCsoft released Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa (pictured) in October last year.

Giant Realm's piece originally claimed that Austin MMO house Vigil Games (a subsidiary of THQ) would also be laying off a significant amount of employees. However, after Vigil employees debunked that part of the report in the comments section, the website pulled any mention of that studio.

An "annoyed" Vigil employee told Edge over the phone that the report is wholly inaccurate. GM David Adams added that the rumors are "patently untrue."
To be honest, since NCsoft seriously overpaid Richard Garriott and with Tabula Rasa barely raking in any cash, mass lay-offs just seems like good business sense to me.
