City of Abandoned Ships Peek #2

RPG Vault's second "peek" feature for Akella and Seaward's pirate-themed RPG is now available, this time profiling two notable locations in the game.
Another of the game's distinctive locations is Tenochtitlan, the ancient Aztec capital. A long time ago, the explore Cortez and his men killed the Indian who lived there and took all the gold, but in reality, the city is not as empty as it may appear. A native who is standing at the gates will tell the player about its history. From what he says, it turns he needs a certain item that lies hidden somewhere within its ominous confines. However, he indicates he's unable to go and retrieve it himself. On the other hand, what he can do is reveal the secret of how to get past a magical barrier that has been created by the gods.

While the overall atmosphere of the City of Lost Ships is based on the citizens and their various life stories, the mood of Tenochtitlan is radically different. It has its own, unique architecture and feeling. Although it looks deserted, it's not dead, and the effect or sensation it produces is one where the player does not know what is waiting behind the next door. The pyramidal temples, the labyrinths and the altars are all still intact. The rooms and corridors are empty, but only until the moment when the player touches the relic. After that the city will very quickly become "alive".
