Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Preview

IGN has kicked up a hands-on preview of the Xbox 360 version of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, thanks to cdv Software's recent press event in San Francisco.
Sacred 2 is built on a system where there is no tech tree to drill through before you can unlock all of your skills. From the start, based on choices you make when creating your character, you get 15 skills plus an additional five based on your which deity you align with. Leveling up allows you to improve your overall stats and specialize those skills. A lighting bolt spell might begin as a simple blast, but at level two you can decide whether to make that bolt do more damage or reflect around to hit multiple enemies.

This limited number of skills with many specializations plays into the Xbox 360 controller setup quite well. Each of the four face buttons can be mapped to any skill you want. Pulling the left trigger brings up an additional set of commands, again all customizable by the player. The right trigger (you guessed it) adds four more for a total of 12 moves that you can hotlink. You won't be able to have every skill, attack, and item use hotlinked at once, but you won't have to ignore too many either.
