Dungeons & Dragons Tactics Reviews

A few more semi-favorable reviews of Atari and Kuju Entertainment's Dungeons & Dragons Tactics hit the web over the past week. The first is at IGN AU with an overall score of 7.2/10:
Load times are a little on the longish side and the music skips once in a while, but overall the game is a solid production that will please D&D fans, if not being approachable enough to bring in casual gamers. Deep, a little rough, but mostly this is palatable fantasy gaming. PC and table-top players should best steer clear, though; you'll just end up yearning for Baldur's Gate III.

The second is at Advanced Media Network with an overall score of 7.2/10:
I can tell you that if you are looking for a great turn based strategy RPG for your PSP, this is the one to get. It's got depth to spare, a lengthy campaign, and hundreds of ways to progress though the same mission. A buy for those hardcore fans, but causal players should give it a pass.

And the third is at Game Informer with an overall score of 6/10:
Previous attempts at translating the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop experience to video games (like Dark Alliance or Neverwinter Nights) have had to make certain concessions to be playable. D&D: Tactics hardly makes any, and as a result, feels like you are playing with the worst DM ever. I felt completely confined by the rigid rules, limited skill opportunities, and a between-battle interface that's more complicated than figuring out the rules for grappling. D&D: Tactics tries to find the middle ground, but ends up lacking both the freedom that distinguishes tabletop D&D and the gameplay that makes the digital versions entertaining.
