Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Preview

MPOGD has whipped up a quick report of EA Mythic's Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning demonstration at Gen Con Indy.
While on the topic of pvp interaction, we learned that healers would NOT be able to stand back at a safe distance, if they want to be truly effective. Jeremy made it clear that Warhammer was trying to discourage buff-bots and multi-boxing by making all priest classes effective only with concentration and skill in positioning. For instance, a Rune Priest must hit enemies HARD in order to heal well. A Shaman must engage the enemy directly in order to build up WAAGH for his heals and other beneficial spells.

Should the priest become the sole target of the enemy encounter, all is not lost. Enter collision detection. Now a group of three Black Orcs can step forward and array themselves in front of their Shaman, and the enemy fighters cannot get past their massed bulk. Even better, the Black Orc has a special ability to perform a "friendly knockback", in effect, picking up an overzealous Shaman and throwing it behind him for protection.
