TeamXbox’s Best of E3 2007 Awards

TeamXbox has announced the winners of their "Best of E3 2007" awards, with Fallout 3 Best Demo), Mass Effect (Best RPG), and BioShock (Best Action/Adventure) all earning a spot. Mass appeal:
We're just about positive that the combat engine in Codemasters' Rise of the Argonauts will become the industry-standard in a few, but we really didn't get to see enough of the true nature of this one to crown it RPG king. Same goes for Fallout 3: Great demo, and probably the RPG, if not the game of the show next year if it doesn't come out before E3 08 (if there even is an E3 08). However, it's still a ways off for us to capture its true essence.

It was quite the contrary for BioWare's Mass Effect, which was the buzz of E3 2006, due to its unique dialog system and general cinematic flair. Flash forward over a year and you can begin to see how Mass Effect could literally and single-handedly turn the RPG world upside down.

From a story that had us not wanting to leave the demo to a real-time combat and vehicle-control system that is action-game fun yet role-playing deep, Mass Effect is the complete, next-gen RPG package, and worthy of our (Best of) accolades for Year 2007 RPGs.
