Fallout 3 E3 Previews

Chalk up another pair of previews for Bethesda's Fallout 3, courtesy of this year's E3 Media & Business Summit. The first (which covers F3 as well as E3 as a whole) is at The New York Times:
Like its esteemed predecessors, the third installment of the franchise is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where you, the player, decide how to carve out your place in a horrible new version of America. Put simply, you can be a good guy or a bad guy and there will be plenty of heart-rending, suffering people to either assist or exploit.

And the other is at GamingTrend:
Heading into an underground Metro Tunnel we begin to make our way to the D.C. downtown area. Snagging some stimpacks and Salisbury steak and turning on our PiPBoy 3000 light we make our way down the dark corridor and right into the path of a pair of Super Mutants. Initiating V.A.T.S. with the right bumper, Todd took aim at the right leg of the mutant with a large club that was charging his way. He queued up the attack until he ran out of action points, and then we saw the results. Putting a round through the leg of our charging mutant slowed him significantly and caused him to begin limping. A second mutant took up a high ground position with a rifle. Utilizing our regenerated AP points we cheated a bit and put a round through both of their heads. I am here to tell you that the Bloody Mess trait is alive and well blood and gore sprayed all around as chunks of brain and skull littered the ground. Little bits of gray matter came to rest at our feet as we moved on to a quick look at the repair skill.
