Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures E3 Previews

A few more previews of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures have surfaced, all of which are based on Funcom's demonstration at this year's E3. The first is at Ten Ton Hammer:
There will be 14 different classes to choose from when creating a character. The 'Pet class' is the Necromancer, which can eventually have up to 8 pets. You accumulate 'pet points' as you level that you spend on whichever pets you want - some cost more points than others, so you could have 8 small pets, or 4 larger ones... you get the picture. Why would you care? Mostly because you can order your pets to attack different targets!!! How cool is that? There's even differences in pets between male and female characters, says Jørgen. The whole thing works like a squad-based mechanic that you may recognize from shooter-style games.

The second is at Gaming Today:
This year was all about teamwork and introducing the character classes and races. While most MMOs focus on a family friendly fantasy experience, the nature of the world of Conan with its half dressed seductresses, burly barbarian berserkers and occult magic means Conan is squarely focused on delivering a setting built for adults. Gore, exposed breasts and harsh language were present and the developers reveled in the fact that to make a game true to Howard's character the game would have to be targeting an M rating.

And the third is at the Age of Conan forums:
They escorted us to the AoC room. My heart was pumping. They did a great job setting up the theme for this room. It was of course dark. Lights set up to look like torches, Shrunken heads on spits, and bar off in the corner. They had beer ..yes! I took a Corona and the presentation began. There were 3 machines. Each with 3 27) wide screen monitors for everyone to see what was going on at each station. I walked right up to get a closer look of the graphics . Writing about the games graphics wont do it justice. Just believe me when I say it was the best I've ever seen in a game. It surpassed Oblivions graphics and later found out that they weren't even running DX10 on this presentation. It was DX9!! ZOMG!!!

Apparently some people were still able to sneak into the event.
