Hellgate: London E3 Previews

A trio of new Hellgate: London previews have hit the web, all of which are based on the demo being shown at the ongoing E3 Media & Business Summit. The first is at GameSpy:
There will be 200 side quests plus the main storyline quest. Needless to say, there will be plenty for you to do. Some of these side quests will be special "Chance Quests" which are very rare and will feature equally rare loot. Roper says, "You may run down a street and see a manhole that's randomly generated and it will take you to a new quest." These special quests won't appear often and you'll have to keep your eyes peeled for them. Completing one will definitely be worth your time.

The second is at Games Radar:
What should also make the game enjoyable - really, a crucial element of this sort of game - is the ability tree you manage as your character rises in level. We got a peek at it; though we weren't able to examine it closely, we saw a couple dozen abilities, each with multiple levels of power which, according to the developer who gave us the demo, do change the effect of the abilities during gameplay. If there really is a lot of variety to it, that'll be a great incentive to keep playing.

And the third is at GameZone:
There are 30-40 hours of gameplay in Hellgate and the environments are known as metasets. There are eight-to-nine metasets with 15-20 variations on each. There is a rarity which may affect the level of a metaset or send the player to a new section that houses rare elements. The world is anything but static, and there are six different character classes two factions per class.
