The Lord of the Rings: The White Council Previews

The folks at UGO and 1Up have both published new previews for Electronic Arts' recently unveiled RPG, The Lord of the Rings: The White Council. A snip from UGO's article:
Interestingly, the story for the game will take place several decades before the events of the trilogy. Bilbo has not yet found the ring and Aragorn is just a child. But don't take that to mean you won't be seeing any familiar faces. The White Council, made up of Galadriel, Elrond, Saruman (at this point we still think he's a good guy) and Gandalf, knows of the coming danger, and its members are trying their darndest to avert the threat.

And a snip from 1Up's article:
The trailer we saw had an awful lot of beautifully rendered dwarves, hobbits and wolves, as well as a great looking dragon taking a nap on his hoard. It was, of course, entirely prerendered, but producer Steve Gray says that it represents the quality the development team is shooting for. Call us cautiously optimistic. There's really no way the actual game is going to look that good, but the distinct visual style of the films is captured perfectly, and there's nothing wrong with aiming high. If it comes anywhere near the mark White Council will look great.
