Elaine Cunningham Interview

IGN's D&D Vault has published an interview with fantasy author Elaine Cunningham about some of her past work writing Dungeons & Dragons novels. Here's a bit to get you started:
Q: What is the most challenging aspect of writing fiction based in a Dungeons & Dragons world?

A: Writing in a shared-world setting is very much like writing historical fiction. Sure, the (history) is entirely fictitious, but it still needs to be consistent with the lore. I started writing under First Edition rules. D&D in now in version 3.5, and some of the rule changes have wreaked havoc on past plots. Game products incorporate bits and pieces of your novels, often in ways you never anticipated. I'd have to say that trying to maintain continuity in an ever-changing world is the biggest challenge.
