The Legend of Ares Interview, Part One

RPG Vault has posted the first installment to a new interview with MGame's June Lee about their newly announced fantasy MMORPG, The Legend of Ares. A little something to get you started:
Q: What are the different types of characters we can play, and how are they distinctive from one another?

A: There are two main nations in this game, Empire and Alliance, and each has four classes: Knight, Archer, Spearman, and Sorcerer. Knights are professional battle warriors with strong bodies and talents, usually equipped with a sword or club in the right hand and a shield in the left. In the beginning, they have no special attack skills, with very short-distance attack range in the lower level. As a result, they will have to depend on health potions in the beginning stages of the game. However, as they raise their levels, they will begin to get physically stronger than other characters and learn some skills that increase their attack strength and range.

Spearmen depend on physical attacks, but have more special skills than Knights. They mainly use two-handed spears as weapons, which lowers their defense ability compared to Knights. However, they have faster attack rates, which may enable them to kill more monsters in a given amount of time. In addition, they have more weapon choices than Knights throughout the game. Spearmen are not very different from Knights in the beginning of the game, but they become totally distinctive in their characteristics as their levels increase.

Sorcerers possess countless long-distance magic skills that require more mana points compared to other characters. Their magic skills are derived from their mental power; therefore, it is important that they find items that increase this ability. Due to their physical weakness, it is important to find armors with better defense ability. Furthermore, the strength of magic skills at higher levels strictly depends on how efficiently players raise their magic skills.

Of course, Archers use bows as their main form of attack. Bows are considered to be long-distance physical attacks. Archers cannot hold any kind of shields, and their armors are considered to be lighter and weaker compared to those of Knights and Spearmen. In order to overcome this disadvantage, players will have to focus on their agility, the characteristic that determines quickness in movement and accuracy in attack. They are more known to be helpers for other characters.
