Fire magic is excellent at damaging clustered groups of enemies, and lightning can often strike multiple targets simultaneously, but death magic is much more unpredictable and risky than either. Skull Spray is an excellent example of this. The mage throws three skulls at his enemies that twist and arc in the air. Sometimes several of them miss their target entirely. When they strike, it's devastating.
