Q: How much input did the team at Cryptic Studios give you when you wrote the book?
A: Actually, I was allowed to write the novel pretty much the way I wanted. The people at Cryptic Studios gave me a lot of freedom. Obviously, there were certain characters who had to be included in the story and I had to follow the history of Paragon City as laid out by the developers, but beyond that, I was given pretty much free rein to plot the book the way I wanted things to happen. Of course, everything in the book had to follow the basic concepts of the City of Heroes game, but I didn't find that to be difficult at all. When you start with great material, it makes writing a book based on that material a lot easier.
