Dungeons & Dragons Online Preview

GameSpy has kicked up a two-page preview of Dungeons & Dragons Online, after playing Turbine's MMORPG firsthand at this year's GenCon faire in Indianapolis. A snippet:
One of the points that Dave emphasized during our conversation was the value of making all the dungeons in the game instanced and eliminating the pointless travel time between them. I started my game by selecting a Warforged barbarian. The Warforged are a new race unique to Eberron -- autonomous, self-willed magical constructs. The quest I received from a local merchant was to head out of town to a local dungeon. It seems an Incarnate (kind of a celestial bounty hunter) had tracked a demon to the dungeon where it had opened a portal to Eberron's version of Hell to escape. Now I had exactly 10 minutes to get through the dungeon and stop the Incarnate before it opened another gate to track the demon, and, in the process, unleash lots of bad, spiky things to plague the good citizens of Stormreach. I quickly partnered up with another player, a dwarf priest, and we were teleported to the dungeon.
