City of Villains Takes #19 in GameSpy's E3 Awards

GameSpy has published their extensive "Best of Show" E3 awards, with Cryptic Studios' City of Villains taking spot #19. Here's what they had to say about it:
The whole base-building element of this game is what rockets it onto our list. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the demo was pretty conclusive: You actually laid out individual rooms, with the editor automatically connecting them together with corridors. Then, within each room, you could raise or lower the floor and ceiling of each individual tile. Then, you could texture the walls (with different textures high, middle, or low), add your own colored lights, add props and doors, etc. It was super simple: click, click, click, EVIL LAIR!

Combine this with player-vs.-player super battles taking place within these player-built dungeons and you have something wildly different than what's available on most massively multiplayer games today. It looks like Villains will add a lot of depth to the City of Heroes universe, which the game sorely needed. This could actually tear us away from World of Warcraft!
