Tombstone is only partially in the world of the living. His "body" is made of energy and thus resists most physical types of damage. But It's vulnerable to attacks that can disrupt his energy-matrix, such as Electricity or Radiation. He can weaken his connection to the physical plane even further by his Translucency powers (an Active Defense that makes bullets and punches pass right through his body) and Shadow Shift (which lets him pass through extra-dimensional planes to "teleport" to a nearby location). His disconnection from the world of the living is also expressed by his Dead Mind Passive Defense, which lets him absorb most Mental attacks.
