Guild Wars Quest System Interview

IGN PC has published a three-page interview article with ArenaNet's Jeff Strain, in which the company's founder talks about the quest system in Guild Wars. An excerpt to follow:
Jeff's also quick to point out that they have divided quest types into two categories that should be fun for players. "One is just what we call Quests which are things that people ask you to do. These are meaty gameplay elements like breaking the siege around a small army's encampment or finding a lost daughter and then returning her to the tower through a dangerous mountain pass. The other thing you will experience is called an Incident. These are big. When entering an area you might find that the Charr have laid siege to the fortress in the area and that you have to help out." It's good to note that only one of these Incident types of quest will activate for the entire party when entering a mission area. "So we'll pick one major incident and then everybody's compatible quests that don't have something specifically precluding them from being active. So we'll populate the entire area based on the entire matrix of information."
