Under the new process -- which LucasArts and Sony Online think will take about six months from start to finish -- the player starts the Jedi journey with the acquisition of badges, which are triggered by the completion of certain game tasks. At the onset, the combination of badges that leads to the path of becoming a Jedi isn't spelled out, though it probably won't take much time for a player to document it and share with the Galaxies community.
One of the tasks involves the making of a lightsaber. However, once the right conditions are met, the player will be prompted to talk to an old man who'll inquire about the player's interest in the force and direct him to saving a village of other force-sensitive (though non-player) characters.
