The Bathory Row Access Node
We have not spoken a great deal about access nodes, but I am sure Link mentioned them when he briefed you earlier. Although the Bathory Row access node is the topic of interest here, much of what I will tell you now is applicable to all access nodes you will encounter.
The peace between the Machines and Zion has created an unusual situation within the Matrix. Neo secured for us the right to recruit and unplug some humans from the Matrix. However, the Machines have been slow to grant access to all areas. Though I feel it violates the spirit of the agreement, we have little bargaining power to renegotiate at this point.
In order to circumvent this restriction, we utilize a resource formerly kept secret and used only by exiles: access nodes. Exiles have been hiding from the Machines within the Matrix for a very long time, and they have learned to do it well. Part of their success is due to a "blending algorithm" which makes it more difficult for the Machines to detect the telltale signs of an outsider in the Matrix.
