Lineage II might appeal to players frustrated by other online RPGs with stricter constraints on player killing or to those anticipating the promised large-scale cooperative battles. When the joy of combat with other players wears thin, you'll likely come to the same conclusion we have. Lineage II is a gorgeous boilerplate game with little innovation and many sections of tedious play. It holds promise for greater things, but the same can be said for all online games with dynamic content. Lineage II has not shown yet that it will emerge from the chaos to fulfill that promise.
