World of Warcraft Preview

WomenGamers has put together a three-page preview of World of Warcraft, based upon some hands-on time with the ongoing beta. Check it out:
Loot drops in this game quite frequently almost like the way you expect loot to drop in Diablo. You end up spending less time looking for just any armor and weapon to use, and more time focusing on finding the good equipment that will maximize your stats better. When grouping, the default loot setting is set to round robin mode (where each person gets a turn to loot a mob) or you can change it to more of a free-for-all looting option. Mobs that are lootable by you sparkle gold, so it's easy to tell whose turn it is to loot. Personally, I would rather see loot autosplit to the appropriate person. Perhaps they will modify this before launch.

The questing system has some rather nice features to it. Gone are the days of clicking on every NPC to see if one will speak with you. People who give quests have a big exclamation mark over their head. If the (!) is yellow, you are the appropriate level to gain the quest. If the (!) is gray, check back later when you are higher level before trying to speak to that person. Once you get a quest, the person who you must speak with after completing the quest objectives will have a big question mark over their head. I find this to be a big time-saver.
