Middle-Earth Online Interview

Warcry has conducted an interview with Turbine's Timothy Holman, asking the Senior Producer several questions about his gaming career and his involvement with Middle-Earth Online. An excerpt:
Q: Give us a little background on yourself, and how you wound up in the game industry.

A: Wow, how I got into games, that's a long and sordid tale. I had just graduated with a creative writing degree from CU Boulder and was waiting for my girlfriend at the time to finish school to move. So, during that time, I was working two part-time jobs, one being a bus boy, the other delivering the paper. Both being fairly mind-numbing, I read the want ads every morning in an effort to find something more interesting. And one day it appeared: (Creative writer who is also an avid video game enthusiast.) I called, found out it wasn't a joke, sent in some samples, and started the next week as the Senior Staff Writer (being the only one at the office) at the U.S. subsidiary of DMA Design. The pay was about half of what I was getting previously, but it was enough to keep me in ramen. That was over eight years ago and since then I've worked on console, PC, and online only games as a writer/designer, associate producer, producer, and now as the senior producer of MEO or, as one of my designers calls me '˜Senor Importante'.
