Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich Diary #2

IGN PC continues their Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich diary series, once again with Irrational Games' Ken Levine at the helm. This time, the manager and creative director talks about how they're incorporating the World War II era into the sequel. A snippet:
One of our goals when we decided to take Freedom Force back to the golden age of comics (besides making the game infinitely cooler with vast improvements to nearly every aspect) was to show this amazing time in a way that gamers have never experienced. That's not to say that we're looking to poke fun at one of history's darkest hours, but a different perspective is always refreshing. I suppose that in a sense we are poking fun at some aspects. When you look at the golden age of comics, you get a glimpse at a weird view of the times. The way nearly everything was portrayed was very crude (if not a bit bigoted). You'd see Japanese people with huge buck-teeth and ridiculously slanty eyes. They'd speak in awful stereotypes and act like goofballs. We can laugh about it now because we know better. Or at least we should.
