The party controls are straightforward and uncomplicated. A basic set of formations let you set up the strong folks up front with the support types close behind. You'll use the rules of engagement to set up the tactics of each fight. It's easy to assign specific roles to specific characters -- like attack the strongest foe in sight, or stay close and engage whoever's closest, or avoid combat altogether. You can control each character individually or as a group. When you're controlling the individual, the other members of the party will follow closely behind by default (although you can disengage the tether to keep them separated).
